I need to ship my 4 wheel drive to the Ukraine. I am going to be part of zoological survey team and it is the perfect vehicle for the task. I assume people ship such things all the time, but I have heard a few horror stories about ocean shipments by people who don’t do a lot of shipping. Like me. I would just let the university take care of it for me, but I'm a little over protective that way. I want to make sure that there aren't any risks involved. I want to know if there is anything I need to personally take care of. I had a friend send his pick up to Ecuador by ocean freight and by the time it got there and out of customs, it had started to rust pretty badly. I am sure it had something to do with the way he prepared or packaged it, so I want to be sure to avoid any such problems myself. Anybody have any guidance for me?
