Is it possible to ship a car or truck to Seychelles. I am going to be volunteering there for about six months. I know that the islands aren't that big, but I have a ten year old pick up truck that would be perfect for hauling around supplies and people for the various assignments and jobs I will be working on while I am there. I know some countries have very specific regulations about importing vehicles. They have high taxes and duties if you try to bring in a car as a resident. Does that still apply if you are only coming in on a temporary visa? I don't want to have to rely on public transportation or the kindness of others to get around the place, but I also don't want to spend an arm and a leg trying to get my truck there. I also know how well my pick up has been maintained. I'm afraid if I buy something cheap there, I'll spend too much time keeping it running.
